Whats the Difference Between Bass and Guitar Leads?
We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of lead guitar. Let’s take a look:
Question: Hey, I play bass. And every I buy a lead, It’s picked out for me by the shop. The first lead I had was pretty cheap and broke, on stage… Whats I need to know is, Is their even such thing a a bass lead. and if so, whats the difference between a guitar and bass. Also what can happen to my equipment if I use a guitar lead with my bass?
Answer: Do you mean the cable? There is no difference between guitar and bass cables. They are both standard 1/4" instrument cables.
It`s a matter of quality not an actual difference – a guitar lead is a guitar lead and some are better than others.Now guitar strings ….
Whoa dude! Like your lead broke right on the stage dude? Oh man like WTF! That’s like terminal, you know dude? So, then like that’s a really good reason to like never let the shop pick your lead, you know dude? Yeah, cause I like always pick the lead myself, like you know what I mean dude? Talk about being upstaged. So like what’s that question about like the differences in the guitar and bass man? Of course there different man cause like the you just can’t do like a guitar lead on a bass, like no way man. Cause there’s like extra strings and notes and stuff, you know dude? And then you’re thinking like that’s no such thing as a bass lead, well, I feel you dude cause like lots of times they don’t like let me have my lead on stage, like you know what dude? So, it makes me feel like I was cheap and broke and stuff too dude. Ok, dude, like later, you know man?
