What is the Best Way to Learn Leads and Solo's in Guitar?

I just love answering these lead guitar questions. Here’s another:

Question: What is the Best Way to Learn Leads and Solo's in Guitar?
Answer: Do you mean create or copy someone from else?

You need to know the chords. This tells you the main notes you can use. Start a solo on the 3, 5 or 7 of the chord you’re on.

Learn the melody of the song. These are notes you know will fit. You don’t have to play the melody exactly but playing a little of it with other notes gives a professional sounding solo.

Pay attention to your timing. Sometimes starting on the upbeat will make your solo sound better. Experiment.

Learn other scales that can be used for improvising like the Melodic and Harmonic minor scales.
The Pentatonic scales will get boring if you don’t change things up now and then

Before u go into metal(if interested)
First learn leads of Alternative rock band like breaking benjamin,30 seconds to mars, skillet,RATM,etc
    Then,
Try practising songs of as i lay dying.august burns red, avenged 7fold,bullet for my valentine etc

It’ll be easy if u have more practice over your fingers.
