What Death Metal Band Do You Feel Has the Best Guitar Leads and Solos?
What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…
(the Brother’s Ammot for Arch Enemy, Chuck and his stable of leads for Death, Barry Thompson from Bolt Thrower is underrated as heck, etc, etc)
MQ- Favorite Death Metal lead guitarist, and why?
MQ2- Favorite song by said guitarist?
MQ3- Favorite SOLO by said guitarist?
slayer is not death metal, sparky. please play again later!
cant post any links…am in college..
Peter Lake – Theory in Practice (he brings the neo classical and proggy elements into the bands sound..makes it very interesting!)
James Murphy – Obituary, Death (He has his signature style…very easy to recognise his solos)
Vishal Jit Singh – Amogh Symphony (brilliant prog tech jazzy band from India! brilliant musicianship!)
Tommy Vetterli – Coroner (Well..they do have some death moments..and this guitarist is a legend!)
ill answer the rest when i go home..

slayer
James Murphy from Obituary, Death, etc. I just like his style, he is a great player.
MQ2: Spiritual Healing- Death
MQ3: Chopped In Half- Obituary
Might be a predicable answer, but I just can’t refute the technical prowless of Chuck Schuldiner, Although I do like the Neo Classical/Power Metal flavors of Alex Laiho and the sound of Micheal Ammot’s stuff (Arch Enemy has a sound that I love but have no idea what influenced it and where it came from)…I think Chuck still carries the torch.
MQ2- Flesh and the Power it Holds
