Lead or Rhythm Guitar Question?

Keep the lead guitar questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: Just want to know what they prefer to play

Iv started learning guitar, currently rhythm (only for about 5 months so far) and iv found it to be more relaxing and fun.

just want others opinions really..

I don’t see it more of who’s a better guitarist, more of a who loves what they play (as guitars more about fun rather than a overly serious hobby IMHO)

Answer: Dude if u wanna play rhyth play rhytm. I’m a lead guitarist in my band, but our rhythm guitarist is alot better than me but he enjoys rhythm. And rhythm guitarists usually have the hardest stuff to play. I mean Malcolm Young taught Angus Young how to play ( ACDC ) and Malcolm plays rhythm.

Rhythm guitar is good if you are gonna be singing because you can focus more on the vocals :) also, sometimes less is more! You don’t need to shred to have fun playing guitar especially if you are just gonna play for fun… Why get frustrated playing something really hard?? :)

Any guitarist, that isn’t a beginner, should be playing both. I find both very fun and don’t really prefer one over the other. Lead is fun in a very expressive way but getting in the groove and hitting some big fat chords is very enjoyable as well. To say you are a rhythm or a lead player is rather noobish (unless you are a noob, and that’s cool). Again any good guitarist should be doing some of both.
