Easy Lead Guitar Rock Songs for Learner?
This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: I just got myself a guitar and need some famous songs which I know to play so I can practise but are easy enough for me to play.
Answer: Alright! I love trying to help new guitarists…
1. Green Day- Holiday (nice simple melodic solo line played on only the high e and b string. one of the first solos i ever learned)
2. Troggs- Wild Thing (the solo is played on a flute but is usually played with a guitar and is a simple line that you should be able to play)
3. Poison- Every Rose Has its Thorn (the main solo only has one hard run at the end for a beginner but you should be able to play the rest without too much of a problem. Also, you will feel very accomplished after learning the run as it is a pretty basic rock lead that is good to know as a lead player)
4. All American Rejects- Dirty Little Secret (Alright so the intro is pretty impressive sounding even tho it is a dirt simple lick and you will be impressing everybody…trust me, ppl flipped when i played this song after only a month of playing)
5. Nirvana- Smells like teen spirit (intro chord patten may be hard for a beginner with the strumming but the solo is very simple and melodic and pretty recognizable. Also a great song that almost every guitarist knows)

*Easy* lead guitar rock songs ?????
i didn’t know that was possible
Just learn Smoke On The Water. Anyone, even a five year old can play that. I’d really recommend taking guitar lessons but if you want to self-teach, go here: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/d/deep_purple/smoke_on_the_water_tab.htm Remember, ONLY practice makes perfect. No one is gonna be perfect on first try. After that, you can try anything from Nirvana. They’re a good choice for beginners, especially Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, etc….then you can move on to other artists. Go on Ultimate Guitar’s website for tabs and watch videos of other people playing on Youtube.
Easy mate, just listen to what these crappy Barre Chord bands play.If you cant copy them its time to maybe try something else.
The best place to look is You Tube. The site below has lots of guitar tuition stuff on it.
well It depends on what kind of rock
Grunge: Any Nirvana song pretty much red hot chili peppers may be a little more difficult if your a beginner
Alternative: Green day and System of a down have some easy songs
Metal: Some metallica intros and riffs are just power chords.. Bullet for my valentine has some good riffs like 10 years Today
Smoke on the water is easy but is old and mispayed so might not want to go there Beatles are also easy to learn for a beginner
I’m sure you’ve heard of all the usual learner’s riffs, like Smells Like Teen Spirit, Smoke On The Water, etc. If you wanna learn something different, and don’t want songs that have been played to death, here are a few easy ones:
-Burning Beard by Clutch: groovy blues metal
-Alternative Ulster by Stiff Little Fingers: northern irish punk
-Where Is My Mind by the Pixies: alt rock that inspired Nirvana
-Fell In Love With A Girl by White Stripes: even easier (and more fun to play!) than Seven Nation Army
-Boys Don’t Cry by The Cure
-Accident Prone by Jawbreaker: fun pop-punk
-A-Punk by Vampire Weekend: interesting alt-rock
-I Wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges: Punk
The best tab sites are http://www.ultimate-guitar.com and http://www.guitaretab.com
