Are 13-58 Gauge Strings Considered Thick for a Lead Guitar Player?
This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: Are 13-58 gauge strings considered thick for a lead guitar player?
Answer: yes… i use standard gauge elixirs… which are 10-46

Yes very, but Stevie ray Vaughan used that size
depends what style you play, what tuning your in, and what you like. I haveent found the right gauge for myself yet. that gauge for my style is too thick, but i do prefer thicker strings, i also love having a wound third.
typically lead guitar players probably stick to 10-46 but do what feels good. like me i use 2mm picks. thats typically too thick for most people but i love it.
depends…do you have bratwurst sausages for fingers? OR big manly hands of steel like Andre the Giant?
me, i fit into Korean clothes, so i use 10s…
