Why Do Rythmn And/Or Lead Guitarists Stand With Their Legs Apart During Concert "Guitar Solos"?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: I just wondered if it provides better music sound or guitar control or what, they all do it, why ? why do lead vocalists throw them selves off the stage into the crowd sometimes ? just wondered if its the special effects ?

Answer: well think about it if you watch a baseball game you dont see the batters with their legs together leanining over the plate you
it looks weird
plus imagine a rock leadd guitar player doing an awesome solo with him/her legs flat together
and the vocalists jumping into the crowd that to me is like them testing how much his fans like him
have you ever noticed that new bands always play on stages closer to the ground
it’s just incase the fans dont like them

Lead Electric Guitar, Where Do I Start?

What a great lead guitar question:

Question: I have been playing acoustic guitar for about 5 years now and would like to start playing lead electric guitar. I fill in lead music for church, and am very comfortable playing and singing. I can play most acoustic songs on the radio, but I lack music theory. I have several electric guitars and amps so equipment is not the problem.

Where do I start? Scales, Modes, Pentatonic Scales??? No idea. I know the minor pentatonic scale. I see lessons on ultimate guitar, I have learned from them before, but what do I need to learn?

Answer: Start with soloing licks. Since you already know the minor pentatonic scales, learn licks in that scale. Some good licks can be found in solos of led Zeppelin and guns n roses. Once you get a good library of licks, you can put them together to jam to a song. In this case, solo to a song. Once you get the pentatonics down, go to the modes. An example of a couple of solos done in the modes include: knocking on heavens door by guns n’ roses as well as November rain, also by guns n roses. You will notice that all soloing is performed in some way or form, in the modes. The pentatonics come from the modes, soloing to metal music is using the modes in a minor way. For example, soloing to metal using the modes is just using them at a different interval from the key that the song is in. If a metal song is in G, you won’t use the G modes to solo, you would use the harmonic minor of G which is E minor to solo to metal in the key of G. The harmonic minor is always 4 frets down like G to E. In all, you need to learn the pentatonics good, and licks in the pentatonics for soloing. You need to know what key the song is in, and you need to put those licks together to improvise a solo right away. The same goes for the modes.

Question: What Are Your Favourite Guitar Solos/lead Breaks in Rock History?

Answer: I still sometimes purposely listen to the Randy Rhoads solos from Mr. Crowley and Revelation (Mother Earth) just to hear them again.

Another I often come back to is Uli Roth’s shred on the intro to Scorpion’s "Sails of Charon".

I have always really liked both Jimi and Stevie Ray’s versions of Voodoo Child.

Gilmour’s beautiful sound shines on the solos from Time and Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd.

I love the sound Murray cultivated for Iron Maiden’s Wratchild … it brings the whole tune together.

I’ve always loved the feel-good-yet-bluesy sound of Angus Young, however, I think the aggressive punch of the way he begins the solo in AC/DC’s "Inject the Venom" makes it stand out.

Answer: Since you’re going from a stereo source to a mono amp, you’ll have to do it in two steps.

First, you’ll need a 3.5mm male to two 1/4" males:

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of lead guitar. Let’s take a look:

Question: i would like to know the differenc between the to and know if their different individual guitars or just a matter of how you play it

Answer: Rhythm guitarists play chords in the background of songs and sometimes riffs. Lead guitarists play riffs, licks and solos. Lead is usually louder and higher pitched than rhythm.

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: I bought new earbuds ( ifrogs or plugz ) and they have a mic built in and they don’t work in my iPod, I exchanged them for the same kind and they still don’t work! I used regular apple earbuds and they still do the same thing! What do you think has happened?

Answer: listen have you checked what version the ipod is if is below version 3 it will not work ok i bet you have 2.,2 version check in about screen for more info

Question: Does Anyone Know the Complete Lead Guitar Tabs to the Kinks Song "Arthur"?

Answer: I personally don’t, but there are some great tabs out there on websites such as ultimate-guitar.com and 911tabs.com.

You could also invest in GuitarPro 6 ( Or download it ;D ) which is a very good tablature program which plays the song to you, lets you write your own tabs and converts the to sheet music aswell!
